Position: General Manager

The Bridge Public House is looking for a General Manager who is also a part of the larger RSC management team Rideau Sports Centre (RSC). This person works collaboratively with other RSC managers on common issues and opportunities as a team player thinking of the whole. This person is working manager, out on the floor, supporting their team with a “lead by example” work ethic.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide & maintain a positive, safe & energetic environment where all staff work as a highly functioning team.
- Routine walkthrough of the building including exterior structure to address cleanliness, repair, and maintenance requirements.
- Manage daily operations including cleanliness, organization, revenue opportunities, and staffing.
- Liaise with public health regarding facility inspections and take corrective action as needed, in conjunction with the restaurant owner.
- Review and monitor staffing levels and overall front and back of house schedules to ensure labor forecasts are being met weekly and daily.
- Execute daily briefings, giving staff goals to achieve and providing feedback on their performance.
- Scheduled performance reviews of staff. Creating an action plan to help with their development.
- Collaborates with Chef and their culinary team to ensure food quality and timing standards are consistently adhered to.
- Ensure safety and sanitation are in complete compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Plan and execute menus, promotions, and events with the management team.
- Monitor deliveries, product, and inventory levels ensuring proper pars are being maintained.
Guest Service Responsibilities:
- Strive to lead by example in exception guest service to all patrons and hold all staff to this high standard.
- Ongoing training team members to achieve the 100%; quality, accuracy, consistency, and on time to maintain an exceptional guest experience.
- Ensuring all issues that arise are dealt with in a professional and timely manner while supporting the staff and keeping the guest happy.
Team Leadership Responsibilities:
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain enthusiastic team members who feel valued.
- Model the service standards and team membership expected from the team as a hands-on leader and manager.
- Make use of the situational leadership model to develop and manage team members.
- Be attentive to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- In fairness to all, manage performance issues professionally and timely, with respect and discretion.
Financial Management Responsibilities:
- Full profit and loss responsibility including analysis of financial statements and corrective action.
- Development of annual budget for approval
- Labor/sales forecasting for effective scheduling, and post schedules 2 weeks in advance
- Sales menu analysis and management of the menus to achieve revenue and cost targets.
- Manage vendor relationships for the best value.
- Establishment of food, beverage, and labour controls.
- Maintain recipe workbooks for food and beverage as key tools.
- Maintain POS to ensure high-quality data with integrity.
- Maintain an event tracker and weekly/YTD dashboard.
- Analyze monthly financial reports to budget and take corrective action as necessary.
- Manage the seasonality of the business effectively.
- Reporting payroll and invoices to the accounting company
- Weekly sales reconciliation, and gratuity distribution
- Understanding menu costing, margins, and percentages for food and beverage.
- Ensure Beverage, Food & Labor percentages are meeting targets.
- Oversee events portfolio in collaboration with the Event Coordinator

Duties & Responsibilities:
- A line cook is responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the pantry, fry and/or stations or other areas of the kitchen.
- Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
- Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
- Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station.
- Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
- Ensure quality and safety of food by performing standard and any additional sanitary measures including sweeping of the floors, cleaning of surfaces, as well as proper covering and storage of food items according to standards and procedures.

- Ensuring the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas.

- Unloading and storing deliveries.
